The Reich Underground

It was one of the most massive construction projects in the history of mankind.  In 1944, the architects of the Third Reich began building enormous underground caverns at home and throughout the occupied countries, to house factories and protect them from allied carpet-bombing.  Slave laborers toiled until war’s end under the most inhuman conditions.  They built a labyrinth of kilometer-long tunnels in mountains, to ensure that the nazi war machine could keep producing. The documentary takes us into these long-forgotten facilities and traces the history of the “Underworld Reich”. (2 x 53m)
